PRODUCT INFORMATION
Noisecare products are manufactured using high-quality materials including hot-galvanized steel (in accordance with EN ISO 1461), polyethylene (PE) mesh, and stone wool. These components are selected for their durability, acoustic performance, and long service life.
All claims related to damaged or defective products must be addressed directly to the authorized Noisecare retailer from whom the product was purchased. They will handle the matter in accordance with our warranty and claims procedure.
Yes. All Noisecare components are inherently low maintenance. The steel structure, PE netting, and stone wool core are resistant to corrosion, UV degradation, and biological decay, making the entire system maintenance-free under normal operating conditions.
To assist with installation, we have developed a detailed video tutorial demonstrating the correct mounting procedure.
The video is available here:
The DLα (alpha) value represents the sound absorption performance of the screen, based on standard traffic noise spectra. For example, a screen with a DLα, NRD of 20 dB reduces the reflected noise from an incident level of 70 dB(A) to 50 dB(A). This metric is essential when evaluating the screen’s effectiveness in absorbing sound.
Note: The correct notation is “DLα” with the Greek letter alpha (α), as specified in acoustic standards.
Rw (Weighted Sound Reduction Index) is the standardized laboratory-measured sound insulation value used across building materials, including noise barriers. It is derived under controlled conditions and serves as the basis for calculating field-related performance values.
DLR is calculated from the Rw value and adapted to the standard traffic noise spectrum. The DLR value thus indicates the sound insulation of the screen in relation to normal traffic noise. That is, it is the sound insulation (i.e., the attenuation of the noise from one side of the screen to the other) that the screen itself can provide.
But the noise also moves over the screen and comes in from the side, so, the difference in the noise level on the two sides of the screen is less than the DLR value. It depends on many things, including the height of the noise screen (the higher the screen, the better the attenuation).
Important: when in connection with data sheets and marketing, sound absorption in relation to DS/EN 1793-1 is specified, it is the DLα, NRD value that should be specified. And when specifying sound insulation in relation to DS/EN 1793-2, it is the DLR value that should be specified. One may also optionally mention the Rw value if desired.
